ANOTHER GREAT NIGHT OF
Official website of popular Southern Ontario band,
"Lee Van Leer and The Nouns".

Lee Van Leer plays LEAD GUITAR using just his left thumb!
He's amazingly fast, and better than some guitarists who use three or four fingers to do the same thing. Lee gets the
joint jumpin' with tight, crunchy blues riffs and a "two pack a day" voice that rips up the room. If you're looking
for a great night of R&B, Rock and Roll, and sheer entertainment, check out Lee Van Leer.
Once seen, not soon forgotten!

Welcome!
Snippet from 'The' interview:

Snippet from 'The' interview:
Q - Why did you start playing guitar leads with your left thumb?
A - I come from outside a small town, very isolated. I got curious about guitar from reading Fender and Gretch
catalogs. I borrowed a cheap flat-top acoustic from a school friend. I had no books, no teacher, knew nothing about guitar...
It was just a matter of getting music out of it as quickly as possible. When I started out, I didn't even tune to the 'normal
Spanish' tuning. EADGBE. I didn't tune Spanish until
I got my first Gibson, seven and one half years later, Jan. 12, 1968. I'll remember that date forever!
Q - Fave electric guitars?
A - Any with a slender, stable neck, forty-one millimetres or wider at the nut, maple or ebony fretboard, loud pick-ups,
individual volume controls for each pick-up, scale not over 24 3/4 inches, please, and twenty-two or more not-so-high frets.
My playing style makes me choosy.
LEE VAN LEER and The NOUNS was established in Ontario, Canada in August 1993 and is referred to, by many of their fans, as
"THE NEXT-BEST BAND IN THE WORLD".
